Recent updates to the OBR system
The Ontario Business Registry (OBR) has recently implemented certain changes to its system as follows:
Proof of Filing Document: A proof of document filing can be obtained when filing an Initial Return, Annual Return, or Notice of Change for corporations under the Ontario Business Corporations Act (OBCA).
Corrected Certificate List Update: Restated Articles of Incorporation for OBCA companies have been added to the list.
Automatic Email Address Updates: Updating the official email address of an entity (corporation or partnership) will now automatically update the official email address for all its associated entities (business name for corporation or partnership).
Incorporator Section Update: An additional selection has been added to the ‘Incorporator’ section of Articles of Incorporation for OBCA companies, allowing entities to be Incorporators without requiring an Ontario Corporation Number (OCN).
